Jelly Roll Jam // Fat Quarter Shop Free Pattern
It’s time to get your precuts out and get quilting! Fat Quarter Shop has designed a free quilt pattern called the Jelly Roll Jam. Along with the pattern they have created a full how-to-video tutorial on making the pattern.
I had the opportunity to try out the pattern ahead of time, in order to share my version with you today. The Jelly Roll Jam quilt would be a perfect first time quilt for a beginner or a super quick finish for a seasoned quilter. I was able to complete my quilt from start to finish in under 3 hours!
Each forty-piece Jelly Roll® yields two 36 ½” x 36 ½” quilts, which means you can make two baby quilts or one larger throw quilt out of one Jelly Roll®.
For my version of the quilt, Fat Quarter Shop provided a Jelly Roll® of Simply Style by V & Co. Simply Style has quite a few bright color ways; I chose to using the green, gray, blue, and purple fabrics from the Jelly Roll.
When you are cutting the units for the quilt top you should be left with about a 4″ x 37″ strip of pieced fabrics. For the quilt backing, I used a coordinating Kona Cotton Solid in Peridot, pieced together with the leftover piece of my Simply Style fabric. I finished it off by quilting simple concentric circles.
