My name is Alyssa Lichner I live in sunny Gilbert, AZ. I am a freelance web and graphic designer by day and blogging quilter by night. Pile O’ Fabric is my place to share my quilting adventures as I conquer one Pile O’ Fabric at a time!
When I was growing up my mom taught me how to use her sewing machine, I was able to sew easy clothing patterns and costumes. In 2006 I purchased my very own sewing machine so I could sew my own wedding vail. It turned out great and I had a lot of fun, but my machine ended up in the closet for years.
In December 2011, I was at the Pottery Barn shopping for my daughter for Christmas, and saw their quilts. They were so cute, but I wanted something one of a kind. It was that moment I decided I would make my daughter and soon to be son their own quilts. I googled basic quilt tutorials and ideas and came across Amy Smart at Diary of a Quilter , she had a full tutorial for creating a quilt start to finish called the Basic Quilting Series. Thank’s to Amy Smart’s amazing tutorial I was able to accomplish my first quilt and I was totally hooked! This was by far the most fun hobby I had ever tried and there was no turning back!
I now actively blog here at Pile O’ Fabric, with a group of fantastic sponsors. I have just begun designing my very own quilt patterns for my new company Aria Lane.
When I am not quilting, blogging or designing websites, I have two little blessings, Gwenyth who is 3 years old and Everett who is 9 months old. I plan to homeschool them, so I am very interested in homeschooling blogs and books.
I can’t leave out my husband who I have been married to since I was 18yrs old. He is my best friend, my teacher and will allows be my High School Sweetheart.
And finally the most important part of my life is my relationship with Jesus, the creator! This blog is Primarily for teaching and learning Quilting, but if you are ever interested in hearing about my faith please shoot me an email!
