Meet Me at The Picnic, Week 2 - Fat Quarter Idol

This is the second week of Fat Quarter Idol at Sew,Mama,Sew!. And this weeks theme is Meet Me at The Picnic. My first thought when I think of a picnic is the plaid red and white picnic table cloth. I also think of nature, birds, and flowers. All warm colors.

After I had the colors in mind I searched the Sew,Mama,Sew! shop by print. I started with Florals, then Solids. The biggest challenge I faced this week was all the fabrics I liked were on sale! Which of course is fantastic, but one of the rules is that you choose all regular price items.

I picked out about 28 different fabrics, opened the images up in Photoshop and put them all together in a collage. One by one I got rid of fabrics, till I had my final twelve.

Here were my final choices which can all be found at the Sew,Mama,Sew! shop.

  1. Walkabout ~ Alegria ORGANIC
  2. Tomato 7 ~ Kona Cotton
  3. School Uniform Apple ~ School Days
  4. Ditty Cat Eye ~ Gypsy Caravan
  5. Banana 1481 ~ Kona Cotton
  6. Recess Graphite ~ School Days
  7. Asparagus 348 ~ Kona Cotton
  8. Nesting Gold ~ Multi Black ~ Chickadee
  9. Seedpod Stripe Turquoise ~ Flea Market Fancy
  10. Charcoal 1071 ~ Kona Cotton
  11. Scandi London Bus Red ~ Summersville
  12. Posies Turquoise ~ Flea Market Fancy

You can see my final choices on my Pinterest Board for Meet me At The Picnic. Can't wait for next weeks challenge!
