Fabric Giveaway, and a New Sponsor! Welcome Canton Village Quilt Works!

Today I am excited to be welcoming another new sponsor! Welcome Jackie from Canton Village Quilt Works!

Canton Village Quilt Works was born out of a passion for quilting. Jackie Kunkel began quilting as a hobby and eventually it grew into a machine quilting business, and then into a online store filled with beautiful fabrics and patterns.

What I find so exciting about Canton Village Quilt Works is that it is much more than just a fabric shop, Jackie is quilting extraordinaire! I asked Jackie to share a little about herself and her business with us today.

Welcome Jackie Kunkel!

Jackie Kunkel

I have been a quilter for 18 years, in business for 12, designing for about 2.5 years for magazines, and have taught classes over the last 18 years as well. I have also served as a program chair in one of the guilds I belong to for 2 years and president of another guild for 2 years. I have been instrumental in forming the Modern Connecticut Quilt guild and moderated an event in NYC for the Alliance of American Quilts this past August. I also have been producing a quilting podcast for 3 years now called Jackie's Quilting Chronicles which can be found in iTunes. I am also an award winning quilter for my own quilts and quilts for my customers. I am also an avid quilting blogger since 2007.

Island Breeze

I have been a long arm quilter for 12 years. In Quilt Magazine, I was interviewed regarding just this subject and many photos of my quilts are there. In the May/June 2012 issue of Quilt Magazine my quilt, Island Breeze, is on the cover. I have been designing quilts for Quilt Magazine for 2.5 years and now also for Windham Fabrics. I own my own online quilt shop. This year, 2012, I have spearheaded a NEW week long quilt show at the New England Air Museum (NEAM) in September.

Since I have been teaching since 1995, it was a natural transition for me to want to combine my love of paper piecing and Judy Niemeyer designs to become a Certified Teacher. I have already been lecturing and doing trunk shows for guilds for 2 years and enjoying the entire process.

Thank you Jackie for sharing with us! She is quite the accomplished quilter!

I encourage you to head over to Jackie's blog and be inspired! She is actively sharing about her projects and business, and has some wonderful tutorials. In fact last night I spent over an hour watching her Quilting by Numbers Tutorials Series. She teaches you how to design quilts using the Mac program Numbers, it was so helpful!
