Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I have dedicated this blog to talking primarily about quilting, but today I wan't to share with you some things I am so very thankful.
Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 106:1
The most important part of my life, before my family, friends and my love for sewing, and quilting, is my relationship with Jesus Christ the Creator.
I am thankful for my other half, my husband Jacob. He is basically the opposite of me, which is absolutely perfect. He is my best friend, my teacher, supporter and is an amazing cook :) I am also thankful for my two little kiddos, Gwenyth and Everett, they teach me patience daily and bring me so so so much joy.
I haven't talked much about my health here at Pile O' Fabric, but I don't have the best health. I go to doctor, after doctor, and specialist, after specialist month after month. My doctors don't know for sure what exactly is wrong with me, but I live with Chronic Pain. They are currently treating me for Fibromyalgia.
Despite the fact that I basically live in pain every single day, that working with my hands can be extremely painful, that I am sometimes so weak carrying my baby is difficult, I remain thankful.
When I first began getting sick about 5 years ago I wasn't very thankful, and just did not understand why I had to be so sick. But, flash forward 5 years and I feel as if I have finally come to a place where I have accepted my health and I am thankful. I am thankful, because through the experience of being sick I have learned and grown in patience, longsuffering, and trust.
Thanksgiving last year you could have told me that I would be quilting, blogging, and stashing loads of fabric, and I would have said, huh? I don't sew! But, in December 2011 I decided to make a quilt and it has completely changed my life.
Sewing has aloud me to meet wonderful friends all over the entire world, to work and take care of my little ones at home, and has given me a hobby I can find so much joy in and can use to bless others.
Meeting all of you here at Pile O' Fabric has been a complete blessing, and I thank you so much for coming along with me throughout my quilting journey! Thank you for listening and for your support.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
