Bijoux by Bari J. Launch Party // Block Pattern & Giveaway

A collection from the imagined life of a traveling free spirit and her elegant caravan decorated with gorgeous textiles and the beautiful items she has acquired along the way. By Bari J. for Art Gallery Fabrics.

Today I am participating in a party to celebrate the beautiful new fabric collection Bijoux by Bari J. for Art Gallery fabrics. It is day 9 of this fantastic inspirational blog hop and I am going to share a tutorial for a quilt block using Bijoux that would make a beautiful quilt.

The Bijoux Block

bijoux-blocks

Bari J. and I met at our local Modern Quilt Guild and I have really enjoyed all her work. Bari asked me if I would like to play with this new collection and come up with a quilt block, and of course I was ecstatic over the idea! With all the curves from the Retro Rubies QAL and my recent Hour by Hour block tutorial I am in total curvy mood! I decided I wanted to incorporate more curves into this block as well because I felt like it would flow well with the designs in the fabric. It also give you an opportunity to practice those curves even more!

So far I have only made these two blocks, but I really want to make an entire quilt for my daughter. I mocked up a little preview of what the quilt would look like, of course I would use more of the fabrics from the entire Bijoux collection.

The Block Instructions

This is a pretty simple block to assemble. You can download this free Bijoux block pattern sheet here. Enjoy! Please share your finished blocks in the Pile O' Fabric Flickr Group!

The Giveaway!

Bijoux has just shipped to your local independent fabric retailers, so you'll be able to get your hands on some very soon. You can order it at the Fat Quarter Shop and Mad About Patchwork! But, Bari has generously set aside 10 fat quarters to give away to one lucky Pile O' Fabric reader.

I have a long list of cushions and quilts that I want to make so I’m sure I’d be able to match this fabric up to one of those patterns no problem! Thanks for the give away!

I would love to make a beautiful wall hanging. The colors are perfect for my den and I have a few bare walls, since my husband took down all the pictures and painted. He said you can put wall hangings back, no pictures when your quilts tell a story.
    Thanks for the chance.
