Binding & Tagging the Instagram Quilt // In the "Studio"

This post is part of an ongoing video series called In the "Studio". Step into my sewing "Studio" and see what I have been sewing. Also link up your current works in progress. See all episodes. This week for In the "Studio" episode #4, I finished my Cross Stitch Instagram quilt by binding and tagging the quilt. binding-intro-1_sm In the video I am using a machine binding method, you can find the tutorial for this method here. For the tag I used Pellon® EZ-Steam II to stabilize a piece of white Kona Cotton, I then trimmed the EZ-Steam to 8.5 x 11 and printed my tag design directly onto the fabric side. I then fused the tag to my quilt, heat setting the ink and fusible. I will be doing a full tutorial on this tag method in weeks to come.

The Finished Quilt!

This mini quilt finished at 27" x 27". The quilt top was made with Kona Cotton in Honey, Parchment, Charcoal, Canary, Peacock, and Poppy. For the backing I used Kona Cotton in Citrus. The quilting was done with Aurifil 40WT #2312. final-quilt-c final-quilt-back-c final-quilt-tag-cNext week I am starting a new project for the In the "Studio" video series. I will be making a Bali Bed Runner!
