Welcome to Pile O' Fabric, the personal craft blog of Alyssa Lichner
Welcome to The Pile! The big ole' Pile O’ Fabric, we all have one and if you don’t it is only a matter of time. Why is it as quilter’s and crafter’s we somehow manage to bury ourselves in fabric! All those beautiful fabric designs, its just too hard to resist. So the question is what do you do with your Pile?
My name is Alyssa Lichner, I am a wife to a supportive loving husband, and stay-at-home mother of two beautiful children. Gwenyth, 2 1/2 years old and Everett, 1 month old. I am the owner of Tenable Designs, LLC, which is a freelance web and graphic design firm. I throughly enjoy, designing beautiful web interfaces for sweet businesses. I have been doing so for about 5 years now.
I have dabbled in many hobbies, a few of which I wasn't so great at, and some I hope to do the rest of my life. I am musically educated, and can be a pretty crafty! A few years ago I started scrapbooking and card making, and don't get me wrong it was fun, but it didn't stick. I also did a bit of clothing sewing in the past years, which again was fun, but didn't stick. Then in December of 2011, I decided I wanted to make my children special Quilts. I had never done this before, but was determined to teach myself. I got online and searched for basic quilt tutorials and came across Amy Smart at Diary of a Quilter, she had a full tutorial for creating a quilt start to finish called the Basic Quilting Series. Thank's to Amy Smart's amazing tutorial I was able to accomplish my first quilt and I was totally hooked! This was by far the most fun hobby I had ever tried and there was no turning back! Since then I have been busting out quilts left and right, and with every new project I fall in love more!
Since it has only been a few months I am sure you can imagine that I am not a Pro, but I do feel I am getting better with each project, and have been inspired to share them with you! Here at Pile O’ Fabric, I plan to conquer one pile and one project at a time! Sharing my experiences from each project. That includes all that comes with a Project, which sometimes could be a post on "What to do when your child throws rice krispies all over your house" :D. My hopes with this personal craft blog, is to try to inspire you, to meet great people, to try out and review great products, to learn and keep learning, and maybe someday have a zillion quilts ;)
I would absolutely love it if you would join me for the ride! I would love your feedback and support with each step of the way!
