Well things have been really slow for me the last week or so. My family has been passing around a terrible cold, which I now have! I'm resting often, but I did take some time out yesterday for a new Quilt Along I will be joining. Yesterday was day one of the Patchwork Prism Quilt Along! The Patchwork Prism quilt was originally designed by Anna Maria Horner for Janome. Bianca at Sweet Diesel Design will be hosting the QAL, which has lots of awesome prizes. : ) Yesterday was all about choosing fabric for your quilt.
So for this quilt along we don't have many rules. We can use any fabric we want and even make the quilt any size. The original design (above) was made completely with prints which I love.
But when I saw the pattern (above) for this design, I kept thinking how awesome it would be to do a solid color version of this quilt.
So I sat down with my Kona Cotton color card and stared at it for about 30 minutes. I even opened up Photoshop with the pattern and played with some colors, and the decision was final solids it is!
So I stopped on by the Fat Quarter Shop and purchased some Kona Charm Packs. The Fat Quarter Shop has been nice enough to offer 20% off for the Quilt Along Group. Pretty Sweet! Since these are only 5" x 5" squares I will be sizing the whole quilt down. Which works out great, because when this beauty is done I plan to put it on my wall in my office! I hope you will join me for the next two months as I work on this fantastic project!
I want to thank you all for a wonderful first week in Blogland and for your amazing support! I was telling someone the other day that my poor husband and sisters, have been hearing me talk about quilting NON-stop lately, and for their sake I will now talk about it all on here instead, so now you all can join in too :)
