I recently asked all of those who participated in my SMS Giveaway after the event: What are your favorite sewing events to participate in? Blog Hops, Quilt Alongs, Tutorials, Giveaways, Fabric Swaps, Bee's, Block Parties?
Thank you so much to those of you who responded! In your responses I noticed a general trend that some have never heard of some of these events. If you haven't heard of them already, there are tons of different weekly, monthly, yearly, sewing events to join all over the online quilting community. When I first read about these events I knew immediately I wanted to join the fun, but wasn't sure what each of them were, or how to find the events. Since then I have jumped in head first! I have joined two quilting bees, one is a charity bee, a fabric swap, block swap, blog hop, quilt festival, sewing contest and quilt along!
So today I would like to launch a Quilting and Sewing Event's 101 Series, and for the next couple of weeks I will be going through each event and to tell you a little about what they are, how they work, how to join, and what to expect once you join. These events are usually either in person or virtually online. Most of what I will be talking about will be the virtual online aspect, with occasional information on local events. Now I am not an expert in quilting and sewing events, but I would like to share what I have learned thus far, along with resources from the experts! My goal with this series is
