So have you conquered those curves yet? This is week seven of the Totally Groovy QAL and we have chosen our fabric, met the designer, cut our fabric, learned how to piece curves with a traditional pinning tutorial, pinless video tutorial, curve master foot tutorial, and pinless picture tutorial.
I tried all three different curves piecing methods and ended up doing the majority of my curves without pins and with my regular 1/4" foot. I strongly encourage you to try different methods out and find what you feel most comfortable with. Also please ask me any questions you may have.
Now that you have your curves pieced its times to put your quilt top together! I was initially planning on sharing my finished quilt top in this post, but my quilt top isn't finished! What a slacker host I am! But, I sort of have a good excuse :). I am flying to Colorado today for the rest of the week to witness my best friend whom I have known since I was born, walk down the isle and get married! I am so excited to see her and support her as a bridesmaid for this very special day. So I will be MIA till next week.
So today I will share the progress I have made, and would love to share some progress you guys have made!
I have all the individual pieces together and now I am sewing my rows together. I had a little set back though. I had both kiddos in bed for the night, had Pandora on and I was totally ready to get my groove on. I sat down at my NEW machine which I am still getting used to, but LOVE! I went to push my thread under my presser foot to the back and STUPIDLY stepped on the petal at the same time and literally sewed through my finger! Thank goodness I missed my nail, but the needle went in to the right of my nail out the other side. Oh my goodness I screamed so loud! I ended up calling it a night and that pretty much where I left off.
You guys are making wonderful progress. If you haven't been over to the Flickr Group to share, I'd love it if you would stop by! Here are some pictures from the Totally Groovy QAL Flickr Group
