Now that's pink! A finished quilt…

This weekend my daughter walked into my sewing room while I was working on a quilt. She shouted, "WOW, now that's PINK mom!" So without furthur ado here is the finished Now that's Pink Quilt.

In December it was my turn to choose the blocks we would make for my Wish at .do Good Stitches quilting bee. Having a super girly girl, I knew some girl out there would really love a totally girly quilt. So, I asked the group to make PINK blocks. We used the Starry Night Block tutorial from Faith at Fresh Lemon Quilts. This is a paper pieced block and I found to be fairly easier.

My wonderful Juki is in the shop for 2 weeks being serviced. So, I put the walking foot on my Janome (4120QDC) and decided to stitch in the ditch and echo the white boxes. I very rarely do any straight-line quilting. In fact this is the first quilt I have actually quilted on my Janome. Turns out I really enjoyed it and may have to bust my walking foot out more often.

For the backing I used one whole piece of pink and brown Houndstooth Flannel which makes this quilt super cozy!

Thank you to the Wish at do.Good Stitches ladies for making this quilt possible! There will be one very happy little lady, whom I hope loves pink!
