Sew, Mama, Sew! Block of the Month

Over the last few months I have really enjoyed quilting along with you all in the Skill Builder BOM. I absolutely love seeing your blocks and hearing about the growth your making as quilters. Doing the BOM has definitely made me realize how much of a love I have for teaching others and I plan to really focus on that. I want Pile O' Fabric to be a place that teaches you quilting techniques and inspires you to grow in your quilting no matter what level you are at. I am hoping to do this through tutorials, and fun challenging events.

Sew, Mama, Sew! BOM

Today I am excited to announce another fun event to challenge you to grow as a quilter. The Sew, Mama, Sew! Modern Block of the Month. Yes, another BOM! :) I will be blogging over at the Sew, Mama, Sew! blog for the next 6 months. Here are the details…

Jumbo Blocks!

We will be making 6 HUGE blocks. Each block will be 24.5" and can be used for a sampler quilt which will finish at 62.5" x 88.5" or can be used for a large throw pillow, wall hangings, bed runner, table runner, or duffel bag. Every month the block will be a surprise! These blocks are completely separate from the Skill Builder BOM. I designed them specifically for Sew, Mama, Sew. You will need to visit Sew, Mama, Sew each month for the block instructions. We will be making the blocks to be pieced as a quilt top (not QAYG). I'd love to see you take the FMQ experience you are getting from the Skill Builder BOM and use it on this finished quilt top!
