Hazel Reversible Apron Skirt // Pattern Review & Giveaway

Very rarely do I have the opportunity or the motivation to sew clothing. I also have very little experience doing so. But, recently I had the opportunity to test a Violette Field Threads pattern and I must say I may be making clothes much more often!

The Pattern

Hazel Reversible Apron Skirt by Violette Field Threads

I absolutely loved this skirt the first time I saw it. My daughter loves dresses and skirts and I knew she would love it too. I decided to tackle the project in time for her to wear on Easter. Being primarily a quilter my stash consists of mostly 1/2 yards of fabric. So when sewing this skirt I needed to purchase some yardage. The Hazel is a full skirt with a reversible apron. The skirt has an elastic waist in the back, and a flat waist in the front. The reversible apron is detachable, so there are 3 ways to wear this skirt. It comes in sizes 2T - 7 years. The pattern comes with step-by-step instructions including 33 clear photos showing you exactly what to do. The only technique that was new to me was gathering, and that was super simple. It took me about 1 hr to make start to finish and that was including being interrupted by little ones. I feel the most time consuming part is cutting out the patterns pieces, but once thats done it comes together quite quickly and would be great for a beginner.
