Holiday Sewing Ideas and Planning

My guess is you are much more organized than myself and have already started sewing your holiday gifts. Every year I have the intention to begin working on gifts early in the year, but here I am less than two months ‘till Christmas and I am only beginning to plan. Considering our tight financial budget this year I will need to dig into my massive stash of fabrics and make all our gifts myself.

The past few days I have been digging through inspiration in books, magazines, and my own tutorials to find things I plan to make. I thought I’d share some ideas for easy fun gifts!

Pile O’ Fabric Tutorial: Gift Ideas

Ooh, I was just looking at handmade baby rattles on Etsy the other day – I’ll have to check out Angela Yosten’s patterns. I’m making some quilts for Christmas, but also hoping to finish up some pattern projects – a Pieceful Designs’ cupcake pincushion and some Atkinson Designs zipper pouches. Good luck with your projects. I’ve had mine planned for months, but I’m such a procrastinator that I haven’t started enough of them yet! Seven more weeks : )

I am going to make some pouches and put jewelry or nail polish in them for most of the women in my family and I am making a quilt for my mother-in-law. Good luck on all of your sewing! I love the ideas!

Thanks so much for this, every idea helps. I have popped over to follow your Pinterest page too. i am making everyone in our family an individual place mat and coaster, a new stocking for my teenage daughters, a lap quilt for a friend, some fabric baskets which I am filling with winter needs such as tissues, lipsalve, hot chocolate sachets, and also helping one of my daughters to make a dozen make up bags for friends. Certainly enough to keep me busy for a while.
