Piecing Curves // Hemispheres QAL

How are your quilts coming along for the Hemispheres QAL? I came up with a layout and also decided on my fabrics. I will be using Domino Dots by Violet Craft along with Kona Cotton Coal. Part of me really wanted to use solids (you know me), but I figured i’d try to mix it up a little.

Have you been keeping up with Megans QAL posts? Here they are again…

Megan our wonderful host and designer asked me to share a tutorial on how to piece your curves freehand (no pins, glue, etc). Over the last two years I have done a few different tutorials for curves, as well as asked other friends to do curves tutorials for quilt alongs I have hosted. During the Retro Rubies Quilt Along I created an entire tutorial post explaining how to piece curves with pins, glue, and freehand, I also included links to other quilters curves tutorials. So instead of repeat that post again I figured I would just send you directly to it here.

If you’re participating in the QAL be sure to share your progress over in the Hemispheres Flickr Group or with hash tag #hemispheresqal on Instagram. It has been awfully quiet and we only have about one month left. Don’t forget that this Kona Cotton bundle could be yours!! So share, share, share. We want to see your coloring sheets, fabric selections, and overall progress.
