I love working with solid fabrics and am a huge fan of Kona Cotton Solids. Marmalade has a great selection. These beautiful shot cottons are now easy to get in the US at Marmalade Fabrics. Currently she is sold out, but check back soon for more. Essex Linen is perfect for bag making and adds a beautiful look to projects. My absolute favorite is the Black Yarn Dyed Essex Linen. A while back I decided to order some Moda Crossweaves from Marmalade just out of curiosity because I had never seen them. Remember my Bombay Tote 2, the base of the bag was made with Gray Moda CrossWeave and looks awesome. The hand of these fabrics is fantastic you will love them. When I was at quilt market last year I got to feel, touch, and love on the Modern Solids from In the Beginning. They had a huge fountain of flowing fabric in their booth, which I think I was almost laying in. These woven solids are really beautiful, you must give them a try!
