I tend to use one collection so that the hard part is done for me.

    On August 21, 2014

  • Ann says...

I often find myself using one or two bold prints, then mixing coordinating solids in with them. I love the simplicity it brings with a little extra texture!

    On August 21, 2014

  • Terri van Gulik says...

I like to use some fabrics from a line, but I usually add other fabrics to it.

    On August 21, 2014

  • Laura Phipps says...

I am a new quilter and prefer to use one line of fabric so that the colors work together. Hopefully, when I get more experience under my belt, I will have the confidence to be more creative and use a variety of fabric collections. :)

  • Monique B says...

I like to buy sets…but then I obsess over what to do with them…I also like to combine new sets with old recycled jeans. In theory anyway…the pile of old jeans is just sitting there looking at me.

  • Lisa says...

I tend to mix and match, I have lots of fun tearing apart my stash to put a quilt together.

    On August 21, 2014

  • Janet T says...

I use what ever I find that I like to make the quilt the way I want it. Collections are nice, and coordinated, but most times, it is more fun to hunt and gather the fabric. It is part of the process.

I usually like to mix and match.

    On August 21, 2014

I rarely buy a whole collection but if I do, I can’t resist pulling in other fabrics. I think it’s more fun that way even if results are less predicable!

    Thanks for the entry!

I do both. Sometimes I will use a whole line, or a grouping from one line, or I mix and match. I suppose it all depends on my mood and the project.

Sometimes I’ll start with a line I like and then add to it from other collections to make my quilt unique.

  • Rachell Reilly says...

I like my quilts to match and coordinate, so I like whole collections. Problem is, I can’t afford them. So I collect a few quarter or half-yard cuts of my favorite prints from my favorite collections when I can.
More often than not, I choose something I love, then go in a hunt to find fabric that matches and coordinates.

    On August 21, 2014
