In January of this year my family moved to a new home, after unpacking my sewing room and almost all of the house I was in the mood to sew something really fun and easy. My daughter Gwenyth asked me to make her a quilt for her bed and I decided to make a classic coin quilt.
Gwenyth hand picked all of the fabrics from my stash herself.
I spent the next few days busting out the quilt top. After that it sat around for months and months. As much as I love to machine quilt I don't particularly like to quilt anything over a throw. I finally sent the quilt to long arm quilter Sarah Wilson at Crinkle Love. Gwenyth picked our her favorite quilting design, Kaleidoscope and not even 2 weeks later we had the quilt back. Here is a cute video of Gwenyth opening the package when it arrived from Sarah. Isn't amazing how much different she looks only after 10 months? They grow up so fast.

The quilt finished at 67" x 90" a twin size. I used the Color Swatches print by Dear Stella for the binding and backing, Kona Ash for the solid background, and five prints in 8 different colors for the strips.
And of course I had to add an extra special label :)
