This month I had the pleasure of collaborating with Patchwork Threads, on a new t-shirt with the design of my Modern Beauty quilt block from the Skill Builder BOM 2013. You can get this awesome shirt for yourself at Patchwork Threads.
In light of this awesome new quilty t-shirt I thought it would be fun to put together another tutorial for the quilt block. Originally during Skill Builder BOM 2013 the block was made using turned-edge applique, you can check out that tutorial here.
For this tutorial I would like to show you how to make the block using basic raw-edge applique. This is a very easy and fast technique!
In order to make one 12" (finished) Modern Beauty Block using raw-edge applique you will need the following:
I put together a free pattern that includes instructions for making a crib, throw, twin, queen, or king size Modern Beauty Quilt. You can download the pattern here.
I have also put together some pretty Modern Beauty Quilt Kits. The kits include everything you need to make a throw size Modern Beauty Quilt.
Did you enjoy this tutorial and pattern? I would love it if you'd pin it or pass it along. If you have any questions about the pattern or tutorial please don't hesitate to contact me.
