Blanche Barrel Bag // Step-by-Step Bag Making Tutorial
A few years ago I made the Blanche Barrel Bag by Alicia of Swoon Patterns. That was my first time making a Swoon Pattern and it was love at first sew. I've been "swooning" ever since. Back when I made that first bag (using version 1 of the pattern), I made a super fast and short "In the Studio" video. Since posting that video I have had many people ask for a slower, step-by-step video tutorial. So with the permission of Alicia of Swoon Patterns I have done just that. Today I'd like to share with you a step-by-step bag making tutorial for the Blanche Barrel Bag.
Pattern, Fabric, and Supplies Used
PDF Pattern - You can get the PDF version of the Blanche Barrel Bag Pattern through Swoon Patterns.
Paper Pattern - You can get the Paper version of the Blanche Barrel Bag Pattern from our online store. This tutorial is based on version 2 of the pattern (not the original version 1).
Fabric, Hardware, Supplies, and Tools Used - I put together a collection in our online shop of all the fabric, hardware, supplies, and tools I used in the video available for sale.
The video is quite lengthy, the longest I have ever made in fact, so I have created a interactive Table of Contents to help you jump to any specific section you want to watch. The video sections are all based on the steps in the pattern, so it will be helpful to have your Blanche pattern (PDF or Printed) with you as you go through the video.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, if so be sure to subscribe for future tutorials! If you have any questions please leave a comment or email me. If you have another bag you would like to see a tutorial for let me know!
