introduction

I am an Arizona native. I’ve lived here my whole life and really have no desire to move. Arizona is my home sweet home. As with any place it has its downsides (triple digit temps), but give me a sunset in the desert and my heart swoons. I’ve been itching to make a project inspired by Arizona, so I spent Memorial Day working on my Sweet Home Arizona Quilt. From quilt design to quilt binding, I was finished within the day.

Today, I am sharing a step-by-step video tutorial of my process making the Sweet Home Arizona Quilt. Even if you’re not from Arizona you can use this tutorial as a guide for making a quilt with your own state, province, or country.

Tip: Starching your fabric before cutting will help stabilize the bias edges of the fabric and give you greater accuracy when piecing. It also helps the seams lay flatter and crisper when foundation paper piecing. Visit pileofabric.com/starchingfor a free starching tutorial.
